Seva Station- 2

.......Continued

Day 2: Got up early in the morning cleaned up the village with our broomsticks and even painted some of the dull walls of the village and the place beautiful.

We also visited the primary school of the village and became a part of the daily educational activity till noon.

Had general interaction with the villagers about the lifestyle and other things like modes of entertainment, livelihood etc. We have the facility of loudspeakers in the van of which we took complete advantage and danced with the kids of the village on the bollywood numbers. At night after dinner, we showed them “Lage Raho Munnabhai” on our Van Projector which all of them enjoyed very much as they don’t have multiplexes which is far off thing, they don’t even have a single theatre in their Taluka so it had to be a joyful experience for them.

Day 3: We organized a medical camp in the village and we served 180 patients and more. It was great to see active participation of a few volunteers who brought oldies on chairs, cots or just carrying them to the hospital from their houses.

When everyone was taking a small break in the afternoon we sat with the village youth and with them we initiated the youth movement in the village christening it YUVA Unstoppable Palasar and had the Yuva’s Anthem sung by Parth after a long time. Then we had a small gathering kind of with the village people in a village hall and then headed for tree plantation. We planted 200 Trees with the new YUVA volunteers. I had been seeing and listening about tree plantations on televisions from years but never understood the importance until I planted one!

There was a ‘Garba’ planned for the night where we danced with the villagers till late night as next day we were going to take a leave from there. They enthusiasm level in the villagers was worth appreciating.

Day 4: In the morning after the prayer we left from the village. It was like a ‘Bidaai’ of girl to her Sasural kinds….. Quite an emotional moment for everyone especially after some kids started crying and we had to stop the van for sometime and then continued our homeward journey.

On the way back to Ahmedabad, we went to Gandhi Ashram, Zilia, went to their school and college had interactions was fun meeting them and the discipline was indeed wonderful.

Then we had our lunch in a roadside restaurant “ Rose Garden”. Felt like we are eating Punjabi food after a very long time….

Post lunch we visited Mehsana’s Milk Dairy which is giant in Gujarat giving a turnover of 1482 crores and source of income for so many villages in and around Mehsana district.

We also had another tree plantation program in Mehsana which was becoming a bit tiring as we were traveling right from morning and then finally Ahmedabad………………

It was like God “Thank You” for such for giving an opportunity to help people whom we went to meet as unknowns and came back with a beautiful relationship of humanity and brotherhood.
